In New York, USIL presented its Peruvian gastronomy online courses platform

A modern digital educational platform to learn about Peruvian gastronomy through interactive online courses, was presented today in New York City by Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola (USIL).

It is about a modern teaching method that merges the gastronomy, and the newest information technologies to expand worldwide the theoretical and pragmatic knowledge of Peruvian Cuisine.

The courses will be dictated directly from Lima-Peru, with a chef that in real time, from the kitchen set implemented with modern audio and video systems, will be connected through the internet to students located anywhere in the world

This digital teaching includes culinary techniques courses, properties and characteristics of ingredients, the proper way of preparing the most representative dishes of our gastronomy, as well as healthy and nutritious feeding recommendations.

Through usilvirtual.com the students will have Access to tutorials, technical handbooks and guided demos that will allow to learn all the culinary secrets from the comfort of their homes.

Some of the available courses are: “Basics and fundamentals of Peruvian Cuisine”, “Ingredients, culture and Peruvian biodiversity”, “Peruvian Pastry basics”, “Peruvian Bases”, “Fish and seafood”, “Sea dishes”, “Meat and Poultry”, “Bases and Sauces”, “Cereals and Tubers”, “Regional Cuisine”, among others.

The Peruvian gastronomy courses release took place in the Peruvian Consulate from New York. On Sunday it will be presented to the Peruvian community in the “Peru to the world Expo 2018” gastronomical fair, the largest exposition of Peruvian gastronomy that will take place in the Metropolitan West, USA, New York.

“This courses open a door to many people that have been interested for a while in Peruvian gastronomy, but for many particular reasons, couldn´t afford a school in Peru, and today in any part of the world, they can do it through the internet. It is a unique opportunity that people have today to learn about our wonderful gastronomy”, the Peruvian ambassador Marita Landaveri commented, general consul of the Peruvian consulate in New York.

“The usilvirtual.com platform is part of the digital education process; in which we are strongly investing. The future of education demands that universities accelerate and renew its digital transformation processes. We start with the Peruvian gastronomy online teaching, and will continue to expand our horizons in this area”, the founder and president of USIL, Raul Diez Canseco Terry remarked.

USIL has 50 years of educational experience and 20 years in Peruvian gastronomy education. In 1998, USIL opened its Chef´s School. Today, USIL has a university level gastronomical school that is part of the Hospitality, Gastronomy and Tourism faculty. At present, in our country exist over 140 gastronomical schools and more than 25 thousand students belong to this career.
